Wylie & Rita's New Arrival
Early afternoon on Monday December 30 Wylie got the anticipated call from Penske that "3 Corvettes were on a hauler and we are sure that one of them is yours, and it will be here in an hour". From then the word started spreading through out club members to go to Penske to see the newest club C7 arrival. On short notice a number made it in time to see the White over Kalahari convertible being unwrapped by Kenny, Penske's Technician. Everything went smoothly with a number of pictures being taken of the beautiful car. Wylie had arrived first with Rita following a bit later with sparkling grape juice and chips for the assembled group. Both of them were beaming as the car was unveiled and and each new feature was seen. This was the first car that Wylie had ever ordered from a blank sheet, and with Rita's help, they made great decisions on exactly what they wanted. Their new Vette had siblings of a Blue over Gray coupe and Red over Black convertible waiting their turn for the Penske touch. Both were also sold units with Wylie & Rita's getting prepped first. When Kenny was done Jeff, their salesman, after more pictures were taken took the car off to be cleaned up and had Wylie come back later to get training and pick it up. A few of the members headed to Claddagh's for a late lunch and then returned for the final send off. As can be seen, still broadly smiling, Wylie got extensive training on how the different features worked. He also had his OnStar and XM radio activated and was soon ready to head off with his new purchase to the nearest gas station for it's first fill up.
