Wolfies Waterfront Grill
On Tuesday June 11, the Retirees and Hookey Players met at Bill & Erika's on a sunny and beautiful afternoon. The group was to leave at 1, but left a little late as Susie (let her divulge why if she chooses to) was running behind and Bill & Erika were waiting for a new freezer to be delivered which showed up at exactly 1. The freezer was a surprise purchase the day before as theirs had lost refrigerant on Sunday during Main Event, not a nice thing to come home to after the long day. Once setup in the garage and left to get cool, the group headed out of Carmel. Those on the days trip were Bill & Erika L, Dick (without his cast) & Bonnie P, Rich P, Susie H & Terry S, Jim S, Jack H, and Wylie E. Once underway we routed ourselves up toward Sheridan using our trusty route of Mule Barn Road, as both Pat & Greg were not along to complain about using it. Once we got to Sheridan there was a plea-full call to Bill from Wylie who NEEDED TO STOP FOR GAS as his C6 was running low. As documented from the pictures we stopped and he took a quick $25 worth (5+ gal ugh!) and we got underway. Just down from Sheridan 236st was closed at 6 Points road, so we turned back south and picked up SR38 to get us across US31. Once across US31 we turned back north and then east to Little Chicago Road and finally our destination of Wolfies, where we were met by Arminta. It was a beautiful day to be on the porch, unfortunately the sun was warm on some so we moved from the larger umbrella tables to the awning covered area with smaller tables. Once settled in we had a leisurely lunch as service seemed a little slow. It did give us a chance to enjoy the scenery of the water and those using it, plus have our usual conversations. During the afternoon we did notice multiple boats being towed in, and wondered if the drivers were related to Wylie. All in all it was a good time and most everyone headed home before the late afternoon rain clouds developed.
After most everyone had left Susie was able to get a hold of Terry's friend Ed's wife Vicki to see if they could stop by their house which is only a few miles from Wolfies. Vicki said to come on over, so then Bill & Erika and Terry & Susie headed over to Ed's house to see his garage. He wasn't home but Vicki gave a full tour of the garage and the beautiful view from their deck. Check out the Ed's Garage page to see what his garage looks like.
