Lingenfelter Collection 8/16
Thursday dawned a bit wet after overnight showers with a majority of the group checking out of the hotel and soon setting off for Brighton and the Lingenfelter shops. Once there the group was treated to a great collection of cars that member Ken Lingenfelter has collected over a number of years. Among the cars displayed was Ken's White ZR1, which was bright and shiny after the Wednesday drive. After viewing, talking with Ken, and making purchases at the gift shop the group said their goodbyes as most were heading for home and the upcoming CI car show, while hosts Jerry and Elaine were going back to the motel and the rest of the week's events. It was a fun drive home as Shep & Ray and Mark used the quick route and hit a flooded section of I-69 and floated through it, fortunately with no damage. Wylie and Bill took the scenic route through the Irish Hills, and had it not been raining, might have taken a drive around MIS. They were told about the I-69 issue and took the alternate route of 18 over to 37 and missed the problem area without loss of time. John and Ruth headed to Flint to spend time with a friend and Keith stayed around the Detroit area. Everyone had a great week and again thanks to Jerry and Elaine for making the travel plans and Larry and his wife for his dedication to making the weekend work for a number of Corvette owners.
