Another Trip to Purgatory

Golf Course that is... on July 19 Jim & Bonnie S hosted a Retirees & Hookey Players Drive N Dine from the East side to Purgatory Golf Course north of Noblesville. The group met at the Kroger / McDonalds parking lot at 79th & Fall Creek. Due to the heat we had a few couples not come along, but we still had a great group of 9 Corvettes. The group consisted of Jim & Bonnie, Greg & Donna, Bill & Erika, Terry & 'sick' Susie (a true Hookey Player), Bob & Barb, Wylie, Sarah Lee, Tom S (first event he has been able to attend for awhile), and guest Bonnie H. The drive meandered north on Fall Creek for a bit and then we headed East, South, North, East, North, West ... past Jim & Bonnie's house and then to many back roads that even Terry had not been on with his motorcycle drives. Jim, with Bonnie checking off intersections, knew his route very well and got us across I69 and then used the Lapel 'bypass' to miss that town and a few more back roads and we arrived at our destination. Once we had arrived everyone talked about needing the air conditioning on this day as we had seen as warm as 98 on the car's thermometer during the drive. Once inside we appreciated the club's hospitality and had great sandwiches and beverages. The afternoon went until nearly 5 for most of the group before we headed back to our individual air conditioned abodes. A great job done by Jim & Bonnie for their first leading of a Dine N Drive, so they have certainly earned their beads that they will receive at the next Corvette Indy meeting.
Note: the fawns greeted Bill & Erika when they arrived at Greg & Donna's house on the way to the starting location.
