Night Before the 500
On the extremely hot day of May 26 Fifty Nine Corvettes and Camaros gathered at Penske Chevrolet to be have a police escort to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway so they all could take part in the Central Indiana Chevrolet Dealer Night Before the 500 party.
The evenings events included a drive around the track and a catered barbeque in the area behind the Pagoda.
Chevrolet also had displays and other things to see and do that evening.
We met at Penske around noon for the 3 pm departure, during our wait we were treated to the hot dog cart and many COLD drinks.
Matt was our host from Penske, and upholding Gene's record from previous years got us going in time to be at the track first.
Of course that meant a lot of down time, as pictures of the participants finding shade under the big tree attests to.
As always it was a great drive around the track and the food was exceptional this year with everyone enjoying the air conditioning too.
