Gray Brothers 10/21

After the meeting Monday evening Mark and Bill decided to do a Retirees and Hookey Players DnD on either Wednesday or Thursday. Thursday was initially picked that evening, but with potential rain forecast for that day, Wednesday became the choice on Tuesday morning in the announcement sent out to Jim S to pass along to the members. With such a short announcement only 4 Corvettes and 1 Hot Rod Lincoln were able to meet at Loves Travel Mart on I65 & IN 267 to make the back road trip to Mooresville and the Gray Brothers Cafeteria destination. Those meeting at Loves were Tom P, Bill & Erika L, John H, Keith & Jan R in the Lincoln and hosts Mark & Donna S, who had checked the route out on Tuesday and found chip & seal on the northern section of IN39. They of course routed around that construction and found a great back road drive to Mooresville. The drive also included Donna reciting many informative local tidbits, including stories of a haunted bridge, just in time for Halloween. Once there they were met by Mike & Linda Tan who used their motorcycle to get there and Tammy who was getting gas at the Speedway next door. The assembled group headed in for a great and filling lunch and the usual Corvette Indy chatter. Once done Mark & Donna led Bill & Erika and Tom down IN 67 to IN 39 and back North to sample the twisty roads to Danville, with Tom dropping off at US 40 to head to a golf game. From there the two couples headed through Pittsboro and splitting up to head their respective ways home. It was a great drive and even top down mid 70 degree weather enjoyed by the group.
Hopefully with the weather holding out there will be more Fall drives yet this year.
