Christmas Wish Ride 12/28
On December 28 Brent & Betty Williams graciously gave a ride in their pristine '62 red Corvette to Jim Herdman at his Carmel home. This came about because his daughter Annette had sent an email to Bill a few weeks earlier about her father, who is having health issues, and his many year Christmas gift request of a '58 Red Corvette. He had one 'back in the day' which he used to race and still had great memories of it. She was hoping that someone could give her dad a ride in one around Christmas time. This was because her whole family was going to be in town the weekend after Christmas. With weather being a concern Bill got back with her making no promises, offering to set one up in the spring if needed. He then contacted Brent and John Rash, as those were the only two red Corvettes he knew of from that era in the club. John's was out of service, but Brent quickly said he would do the rides depending on the weather. As it turned out the Christmas week had been dry, and even warm. So on the appointed day Bill & Erika headed over to document the event. As Brent & Betty pulled in the sound of the '62 arriving quickly started bringing the family outside. After multiple pictures of the family around the Vette and most of them sitting in it, and commenting on how big the steering wheel was; Brent then gave Jim his first ride in one for a number of years! After his ride the two daughters, two of the grandchildren, and his wife Judy also got one around the neighborhood. It was a fun afternoon, and hopefully one that Jim can remember, as his family certainly will, along with his original memories.
