Beached on the Prairie - 8/4 & 8/5

The Beach Boys surfed in to Conner Prairie the first weekend of August and several of the Corvette Indy members headed out to see the group on both evenings. On Friday Gary & Marian, John & Ruth, John & Marg, Charlie & Eileen, John & Sherri, and Terry & Susie were among that evening's packed house. Saturday had Gary & Susan and Bill & Erika in the crowd but not running in to each other. For the concert Erika had not only purchased tickets as a surprise for Bill's birthday at the end of the month, she even splurged on the much appreciated reserved parking which is behind the amphitheater. Saturday night was just as packed with another sell out crowd enjoying the group's three early members Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, and Jeff Foskett along with the younger current members. With both evenings having cool weather for July, with Friday much colder as members bundled up in blankets, the huge packed in crowds enjoyed the lawn setting as the sun set and the Beach Boys glowed on stage. Since the Beach Boys songs were never that long, the group played a large number along with a few by other groups as a homage to the 60's & 70's along with a few newer releases continued through out the evening. It was a fun weekend for all of the members who were taken back to their youthful time now more than 50 years ago.
