Long Lunch Louie Secret Destination Drive N Dine
The route map
On another sunny day in middle Indiana the Retirees and Hookey Player group met at Cool Creek Park for a 'Long Lunch Louie" secret destination Drive N Dine led by Robert. The parking lot was surprisingly full, due to three buses and a number of cars there at the 12:15 departure time. We did find room for the ten Corvettes that were able to make the drive, including some guests from Circle City Corvette Club. The group consisted of Robert, Arminta & Doug, Jack, Jim & Shelly, Jim & Bonnie, Greg, Bill & Erika, Lew, Bob & Sherry, and Bob.
The secret destination was given to Dick & Bonnie, and Donna who could not make the drive but were able to meet us for the lunch part of Long Lunch Louie.
Once we got stated the first part of the drive was through beautiful Cool Creek Park, a single lane drive through the trees. We then embarked in to the Bridgewater Country Club and their beautiful golf course and houses surrounding them. From there we kept moving north, crossing both SR32 & SR38 for a short drive around Northern Hamilton County. Then we worked our way back down to Little Chicago Road / Hazel Dell Road, where we picked up a 'police escort' for a few miles, and then turned on to 126th street. At this point the convoy did not know where our destination was, with much speculation going on in each car. To further confuse us Robert then turned on Carmel Drive and wound our way down to our destination. After crossing Keystone Parkway the traffic lights started to break up the group, so Robert via the radio had to finally give us our destination of Dooley O'Toole's on Carmel Drive.
Robert had reserved a side dinning room where everyone was able to have a great lunch and a lot of fun chatting and telling different Corvette and other stories. Thanks to Robert for a great afternoon and as always the group is looking forward to the next Retirees and Hookey Player Drive N Dine.
