Putnam Park in October
On October 13 two of our dedicated racers got to run their street driven Corvettes on Putnam Park's open road course. As the following two videos will show the student has caught up to the teacher! Mike G, our competition director was in the Red C6 and Mike W drove the White Corvette.
They also were able to catch other Corvettes and metal cars during their sessions with relative ease.
Session 4 is especially fun as it has views from both cars as Mike G gets instructions from Mick on how to chase Mike W down.
Session 5 has Mike G getting more instructions from Mick and catching / passing a few metal cars - look for the open wheel Coupe at the end.
Additional information and Comments are below the videos

Comments from Mike G. about running against Mike W and how they were able to get the track track time, contact him if interested in joining a future day:
Ha ha. Yes, Mike W. definitely shows some speed. I'll concede all but session 4 to him. I like to keep my distance as stuff can happen. I also limit the car to 5500 RPM - that's why I lose distance in the straight. I was never attempting to pass just following (and occasionally pushing). Fun and safe. It's been one of the most fun track events - racing with someone you trust, knowing they won't do anything silly.
The instructor helped both of us too. His name was Mick - don't know his last name.
We race with a group called 10 10ths Motorsports. It's run by Bill Neil. Danny Popp is the lead instructor. There are no dues - just sign-up and pay your fee before it sells out. The groups are, Advanced, Intermediate and Novice. We run the intermediate which allows passing anywhere with a mandatory point-by. Bill rents both Putnam Park and Mid Ohio. Bob Young was there but didn't see him running - he would run red (advanced) group anyway.
