Rising Sun 2013

A favorite of a number of our members who like doing large car shows is the Rising Sun show which this year was on July 7. The show had 347 entrants with 6 classes for cars, four each for motorcycles and trucks, making it one of the largest shows in Indiana. Being a large show it also has some of the largest trophies that are ever given out, and we had two members get them. Randy & Sherry S got one with their 2011 and Jeff B took home another. Also attending this year's show were Chris & Paula W. The group met at Cracker Barrel for a nice hearty breakfast and then journeyed on down to Rising Sun, which turned out to be a rather nice drive despite being hit with some rain. Upon arriving they parked and headed over to registration while afterwards the detailing began. There were a few clouds that looked like they would dump some rain but the good old sun chased them away. Thanks to Chris W for bringing his Corvette canopy where we sat and relaxed while waiting for the judging to be completed. There were High School band students selling 50/50 tickets which the group bought several of and every 2 hours the winning ticket was drawn. The pot was rather large and it was decided that whoever won would treat the group to a nice rib-eye steak dinner. No one did, but that didn't stop them from eating at The Osgood Grub Company anyway.
A long day, but a fun one was had by those that attended.
