Woodward Dream Trip 8/15 - 8/19
For a number of years Jerry & Elaine Croy have been inviting club members to go along on their annual trip to the Detroit area and the Woodward Dream Cruise. This year they got a number of members to go for the first part of the events leaving Indy on Tuesday and the enjoying several days of tours. Those making the trip this year along with the Jerry & Elaine were Jim Shaver, Al Forey, Mel Minion, Mark Schlichter, Butch DeWitt, Tom Piercy, Keith Riley, Harry & Tillie Barthalow, Mark & Jan Rothrock, and Charlie & Eileen Sherman for a great group of club members.
On Wednesday the weather was nice and the group first headed to the GM Heritage Center a look around the extensive collection from the many years of GM production. From there they headed to lunch on the shores of Lake St. Claire and then on to the Edsel Ford House. In the evening they had dinner at the Moose Preserve Bar and Grill for a great meal. Thursday morning greeted the group with a bit of rain as they headed over to their early appointment at Pratt & Miller Engineering Fabrication race shops where just a few pictures were allowed. From there they headed over to Corvette Indy member Ken Lingenfelter and his fantastic collection of cars. Once done with the tours most of the group headed towards home while Jerry and Elaine headed to Woodward to watch the Thursday night cruise.
