Rick's Boat House
On the Friday July 5th, after the long day of 4th of July events a plan "B" was called due to somewhat threatening weather and general lack of enthusiasm by the group to head to Kokomo for the scheduled cruise-in. Instead we gathered at Greg's house to take an afternoon drive and ended up heading towards one of our favorite destinations, Rick's. The group consisted of Greg & Donna, Dick & Bonnie, Susie & Terry, Bob & Barb, Bill & Erika, Jim & Shelley, and Sarah Lee. In Jim's case he was called about the plan change at 10:40 and decided to come along. Bill & Erika got there by 11:30, but he went off in search of gas as they were not planning on the quick change in plans. The group was all ready to head out by 11:50 and took the usual circuitous route using back roads to Ricks. The group sat on the deck, which may have been a bad idea as the mosquitoes had a good lunch too. Talk included Dick lamenting his new Yellow C6's propensity to attract bugs, as the pictures show. After leaving the restaurant he was questioning the fact that he had waxed it well, but they still stuck. It was them determined by a voice on the radio that he had used 'bee's wax', which must hold the bugs! In any case now that he is not mowing the lawn, he will have time to 'debug' his new car. Everyone had a good time and relaxed a bit after the previous days hectic pace, even if they did have to swat the bugs. They were also reminding everyone that the Drive N Dunk location was across the street on July 6, with not much faith that there is enough parking. Look for a report on the July 6 Drive N Dunk!
