Christine's Cafe
The Retiree's & Hookey Players met once again on Thursday, October 11, for another chance to get their Corvettes out and find a place to eat a late lunch. Greg had called the drive just the day before and Bill suggested the destination of Christine's Cafe in Cicero, conveniently across the street from the ice cream stand that we have been known to cruise to. It was a good group of 7 Corvettes making the journey with such short notice on what turned out to be a beautiful fall day. Those able to make the drive were host Greg, Andy & Sarah, Carol & Dotty, Dean & Zoe, Wylie & Rita, Bill & Erika, and Jim S who is back in full driving mode now that his new knee is doing very well. We, of course, did not take the direct route and with Greg in the lead headed to the roundabouts in Carmel. He took us through an expensive subdivision and then through the Village of West Clay before heading up to SR32. Once on SR32 we headed west (the wrong direction) and then north to our intermediate destination of the Stuckey Farm as Greg needed an apple cider fix. Once done there we headed north to 236st and east to our original destination of Christine's Cafe. This was a new location for the group to eat at which also has great Corvette parking in the back of the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the variety of choices on the menu and our usual great time over a lingering lunch. Hopefully next week's weather will allow another trip, which will soon become few and further between!
