Bob's Window Valet Installation
Bob H has added the Window Valet to his 2003 C5. The addition allows for the windows to either be rolled up when you hit the lock button 3 times quickly or to roll them down when you hit the unlock button 3 times. This was the main reason Bob purchased the add on unit. Other features of the valet allow on automatic transmission cars for the door locks to unlock without turning the engine off and pulling the key out of the ignition, for standard transmission the hand brake will unlock the doors. It will also keep your radio on after shutting off the ignition and pulling the keys, even after opening the doors. All of these features and more are programmable by the user. There is also a version for C6's with a few additional features.
Installation could not be easier, other than reaching under the dash on the drivers side to plug the unit in to the OBD-II connector port. Once the unit is plugged in, just sit in the car with the doors shut and windows up and then hit the drivers side unlock button and the reset button. Then enter 412 + the last 4 digits of the unit's serial number. The windows will go down and then up and it should be calibrated. Read the PDF for full information on installing and using the unit. Total time was less than 10 minutes including picture taking of the process.
