2015 Veterans Day Parade
On November 11, this year's veterans day date, the weather was the best that it has been for the past few years. Sunny skies and highs in the high 50's made for a wonderful experience for the 41 Corvettes from multiple area clubs that John Herder had lined up for this years event. For a number of the Corvette Indy club members the morning started at Greg & Donna's where coffee and donuts awaited the 20 Corvettes that arrived for the caravan to downtown. Keeping them together was a task, but everyone arrived to join up with several members already there. With the number of cars this year they had the group assemble on Fort Wayne Avenue, conveniently by the Elbow Room. Where some took advantage of their chicken strips before the parade, while others used their 'facilities'. The parade got started nearly on time this year but it was fairly close to 1 before our group headed on to the parade route. The parade route was well lined by spectators and many veterans waving at the colorful entourage. On the viewing stand was long time member Mark Gray saluting the passing groups. Once done the group straggled their way to Rick's Boatyard as traffic did not allow for a caravan. Once there everyone had a great lunch and lots more conversations between the assembled Corvette lovers. Thanks again to John & Marg for signing the clubs up for the parade and then setting up the luncheon afterwards. Another fun day for all.
