Beef House 08/27

On a beautiful Thursday in late August newer members Tom & Nancy P hosted their first Drive N Dine with a big trip to the beef house near Covington. Those going met at their Brookhaven subdivision in Zionsville at the pool house. This was a great place to meet with school in, as there was no one else there at the 12:30 departing time. Those going along with the hosts were Jack H, Jim & Shelley N, and Bill & Erika L. for 4 Corvettes leaving the lot. After an hour drive up to and across IN 47 and then down to the McDonalds in Crawfordsville for a break. With the previously planned stop the caravan had two more Corvettes meet them there, Greg T and friends of Tom & Nancy - Mark & Jan R. The new potential members brought along there brand new to them 1963 small block C3 for a shake down drive. Form the McDonalds the caravan headed north to pick up back routes and state highways over to the Beef House. Once there they were put in the back room, and at 3 PM were in time for the lunch specials, with hardly anyone else there. The food was great and every had their fill and no need for an evening meal. After eating and talking the group headed out around 4:15, with some heading directly back on I74, while others dropped down to IN 32 and took it back to the Carmel area. For a first time event Tom & Nancy did a great job and certainly everyone will be looking for their next planned event. For those that have never done one just ask them how easy it turned out to be to plan and do the drive. Pick and plan as trip so you can try one too. The club is always looking for new locations and to go and new leaders to get us there.
