Jim's Birthday 04/12

On Sunday morning around 10 Jim K called Bill & Erika to see if they would go to early dinner at the Half Moon Restaurant in Kokomo to celebrate his birthday. They of course said YES and then Jim said 'see if you can get anyone else to come too'. With the day being forecast as warm and sunny Bill felt that there would be a few takers for a drive. He first contacted Jim S, who was away from his computer and unable to send out an email blast, which then set Bill to dialing. (At that point Bill thought that having a club calling tree would be nice.) Through his efforts he was able to get in contact with over a dozen people and ended up with 10 couples able to make the day's short notice drive. Most everyone met at Bill & Erika's house at 3, including birthday boy.  They left a bit later and headed towards Spring Mill and 136 street, where as they got to the roundabout, Greg & Donna coming North pulled in to the middle of the caravan. They then headed West and North to finally pull on to Mule Barn Road and officially kick off the driving season. From Sheridan they headed East to 31 and then to Kokomo. Once there, everyone had a great meal, with most having take home boxes with enough for another meal. Jim was also given a birthday cake to celebrate his day, with most everyone taking a bite and declaring that it was the best chocolate cake they had ever had (it really was)! A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon with a drive and dinner with friends met through Corvette Indy.
