Jim & Shelley's New Arrival

On May 16 Jim & Shelley's new C7 was delivered to them thereby reinstating their full membership to Corvette Indy since they had been 'Corvette-less" since December. The new Red Z51 was their 15th Corvette that, starting when he was 18, they have owned. But it is the first with an automatic transmission so that Shelley can take a turn at driving. As with other recent new C7 delivery's, club members were invited to be a part of the event. On this morning a mini continental breakfast was set up by Shelley & Bob Y (the first 'new arrival' member) with donuts, freshly baked muffins, and other treats along with drinks and red & white sparkling grape juice for a toast. Those able to help toast the new arrival were members Bob H, Jim S, Larry G, Terri F, Bob & Sheri W, Bill & Erika L, Greg & Donna B,  and previous new arrivals recipients Bob & Barb Y (she coming directly from work) and Wylie & Rita E. The group had a good time awaiting the exiting of the new C7, but the weather was not cooperating with an on and off rainy morning. Because of this, Jim and Shelley decided to wait until later in the day to take the car home, so everyone headed out with Bill & Erika being put on standby to get the new parents back to the dealership later in the afternoon. A little after 2 PM Jim called Bill and said that the sun was out so he thought they should go back then. After being picked up, it rained on the way to the dealership but the sun again popped out and the C7 was pulled out and finally on it's way home. Once home and safely in their garage it again started to rain and hail! The drive home was a great one for Jim, but he did admit that he had been looking for the clutch pedal on the way home several times, with Shelley getting a good laugh over that. Sounds like she may have to take over the driving duties soon.
