Claddagh Irish Pub
On March 25, a non meeting Monday, it what was a snowy not for driving your Corvette day that a group of the usual culprits for a Retiree & Hookey Players' outing met at the Claddagh for a late lunch and conversation. The Claddagh having seen this group of rowdies before put us in the Irish Knights of the Round Table room. Sliding in were Jim & Shelley N, Andy & Sarah L, Dick & Bonnie P, Greg & Donna B, Susie H & Terry S, Bob Y, Matt R, Rich P and Jim S. our official photographer for the afternoon. Matt was Bob's date and Jim was Rich's date for the day so they could take advantage of the buy 1 get 1 fish n chip or shrimp Monday special! Dick originally called and said "count the old folks out" and was told he'd have to be more specific with this group. Later he called back and said "count the old folks back in, the streets are just wet". The truth came out around the round table... Bonnie told Dick "you promised me lunch, I'm not cooking". Reluctantly he left the computer as he was hungry! (Editor's note: he was back on it and sending emails by 5:15) Matt updated us on what he knew about the C7 schedule and got Jim N's card as Jim needs a C7 badly! We discussed Dick's surfing progress on a C5 or C6 as the newer Vettes are much easier to get in and out then the C4s. Bonnie is on board but Dick keeps finding more expensive cars. The real problem is that there are no other Vettes out there as clean as Dick's C4! Rich filled us in on the detailing seminar he attended Saturday which was sponsored by the Mustang club and proudly proclaimed he was the only one there in Corvette attire. We hit a large variety of other topics; basketball, NASCAR, pensions, Obama, Illinois politicians, weather, the great Irish country music playing at the restaurant etc. As usual we had a great time and kept our private room until it was time to leave for dinner at almost 5pm!
