​Blue's Butt Bling 8/9/17

Bill's Night Race Blue Grand Sport "Blue" needed a bit of 'bling' added in the form of highlighting the Corvette script imprint on the rear fascia. With Erika's expertise, after doing her blue C5 Maxx a few years ago, they picked a warm afternoon to fasten the Mid America part 614-915 to Blue. The kit consists of 5 letter pieces, cleaning pads, a tube of adhesion promoter, and instructions (which were read first). From her past experience the indentations were first cleaned with cotton swabs dipped in rubbing alcohol then used the supplied pads to clean any residue. The pieces were test fit, with the long VT piece needing a mild bend to fit the contour. Then the backing was peeled off, the adhesion promoter applied, and each piece placed in its location. To confirm that each piece was correctly in it's indentation Erika used a flashlight to check each one. Once they were on, the white covering was removed from the front of script pieces leaving the bright chrome look that had been missing. Total time was less than a half hour, but as with any project around a Corvette, not rushing it works best. That will be it for exterior 'bling' additions to Blue.
