Boulder Creek 04/12/14
Al and Terri F planned a Drive N Dine for Saturday evening as their first time leading a Corvette Indy group. Their plan was to head to Brownsburg and Boulder Creek, which is also owned by the same group as Stone Creek in Zionsville, a club favorite. As it turned out, Al was the only one able to go as Terri had a final retirement dinner that she had forgotten to put on her calendar! To prep for the drive Al asked Bill to help him work out the route, which they ran on Friday to look for potholes and other potential issues. Those able to make the drive with host Al were Bill & Erika L, Jim & Pam K, Bob Y, Mike & Linda T, Susie H & Terry S, and Mel & Norm M in the '67. With Al leading in his Yellow C5, the rest of the group in their Red C5's & C7 were followed by the '67 and Erika's Blue Maxx, giving Al an easy marker to spot at the end of the caravan. Saturday turned out to be the warmest day of the year with temperatures into the 80's, but very windy. The group headed out to Shelbourne up to 116st over to Zionsville and north around the park and in to a few of the developments. They then worked their way back south to Oak Street and west to 267, and then south to Brownsburg. During the drive Bob was able to hit over 100, miles driven that is, in the now four month old C7. Once the group arrived at Boulder Creek they found Greg T, and Alan & Judi C already there with John & Diana A soon pulling in to the lot. Once inside the group was seated at a long table and everyone got set for a good meal and evening of lively discussions. We also talked to a potential new member who was driving a brand new C7 convertible, which was seen in the lot afterwards. The evening was a lot of fun with both Jim K and Terry S also celebrating their birthdays. A great way to kick off the official Planned Drive N Dine season.
