Veterans Day Parade
On October 11, Veterans Day, Corvette Indy members along with Circle City members took 27 Corvettes to the annual parade held in downtown Indianapolis. This year's event was hosted by John & Marge H and a caravan of 15 Corvettes was led by Greg & Donna from their house to the parade staging area. Another group came in from the 10th & I465 area along with a few drivers who made their own way to the route. Corvette Indy members that attended were hosts John & Marg H, Greg & Donna B, Bill & Erika L, Dick & Bonnie P, Jan & Bob B, Jeff B & Charity N, Randy & Sherry S, Jewel & Cecilia P, Wylie & Rita E, Jim N, Jim S, Rich B, Bob H, Al F, and Kim C. It was a cold day, but a number of the Corvettes had their tops down or roofs off to display their flags, even with the few sprinkles of rain. Those that were cold or in need of restroom facilities made use of the Tynadall Amory that was open prior to the parade. Of course for any parade it is a get there early and wait, but the morning went by quickly and once the parade started it's 6/10ths of a mile distance went even quicker. Everyone along the parade route was very supportive of the Veterans and the Veterans really appreciated it. Once the parade was done a majority of the group headed to Rick's Boatyard for lunch where we were met by CI members Greg T and Bob Y. Rick's was a good place to meet with plenty of parking and room to visit the multiple tables that had been set up for the two club's members. At the end of the meal everyone sang Happy Birthday to Kim as it was her birthday on Tuesday! A good time was had by all who joined in on the celebrating of the national holiday.
Thanks to Bill, Greg & Wylie for the day's pictures and Rich of his now sleeping C6!
