Two Couples Head Home
On Saturday the 7th two of the couples headed home, two headed off to other destinations, and two remained in the area another day to take a helicopter tour and then spend more time in downtown Gatlinburg. Jim & Bonnie and Bill & Erika were the ones headed for home with Bill working out a route that would get Jim & Bonnie to the Ertel Winery, a trip that they had missed earlier. The route included the basic interstate to Lexington, KY. Then over to Frankfort and up 127 to 355 over to the 421 Ohio River bridge which then took us through scenic Madison IN. From there it was up 421 to 50 and over to IN129 and the winery. Once there we all sampled the many different wines, with both Jim & Bonnie (California wine growing area transplants) enjoying the Indiana wine. Once the wines to be purchased choices were made we had a great dinner, with selections made from their extensive menu. Including calamari which Jim & Bonnie both said rivaled what they could purchase on the coast of California. Once done the two couples headed to I74 and 465 to their respective homes to rest up for the next Corvette Indy adventure. There were not as many pictures taken by either couple, but there are enough to show that the day happened!
