Columbus Car Show
A trip to the Columbus Corvette Club Car Show on July 9th got a group of the club members up early. Rich & Suzanne, Greg & Donna with guests Jim & Bonnie caravaned to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Edinburg where they met Barry, Chris & Paula, and Randy & Sherry for breakfast. Afterwards they caravaned to the Columbus car show at the Mall where they detailed their cars and of course the gals hit the Mall for a little shopping. The skies were sunny but it was warm. Rich brought his Corvette Canopy which provided some shade. That made a difference because Rich has a laser thermometer which when aimed at the parking lot in the sun read 110 degrees! When he aimed it at the parking lot area that was in the shade it "only" read 89 degrees. The Bellvilles, Bowrons, Spragues and Whites were lucky enough to all bring home trophies. After the show the judges shared with Donna that her car had tied for best of show in total points so the judges took a vote between the two cars and they tied again, afterwards they went out and looked at both cars and took another vote which also was a tie. Next they pulled out a coin to break the tie and Donna came in second. Maybe next time... After the show, most of the group went for that other favorite pastime, eating out... They had dinner at Montana Mikes in Columbus with two couples from the Columbus Corvette Club and then headed for home. Special thanks to Jim and Bonnie for riding with us and for taking these great pictures!
