Wind Deflecting the 'Beater'
Donna and I have differing views on convertibles... I love them and she does too as long as the top is up and the window is closed. During Bloomington Gold Randy & Sherry caught us as they were walking back to their Vette and told us about the great price on the wind restrictor they had just purchased for their C6. Al & Terri Forey had already installed this mod on their C5 convertible and were pleased with the results. Off to the vendor Donna and I went and I walked back to my car, vendor in tow with two units, one for the C5 and one for the C6. Take that Randy! Anyway, that was June and this is August so I figured I better install them before I forgot I had them. I started with the Beater and the C5 install went well. The units are pretty well designed to stay in place and not interfere with raising and lowering the top. That doesn't sound like much except I have two different earlier designs stuffed away somewhere in the garage that I quit using after about one or two uses just because it was a pain to remove and store every time I raised the top. This unit is bottom lit with dimmable LED strip lights that make the Corvette script and logo stand out. Donna likes the look of the unit and it actually does block a significant amount of the rear blow back turbulence which makes her top down rides much more enjoyable.
