30th Anniversary Banquet 10/19
The banquet for the club's 30th Anniversary was held at the Ritz Charles on what turned out to be a beautiful fall evening. Not only that, with guest Ken Lingenfelter bringing a ZR1, a ringing exhaust note salute was done at the beginning with nine Corvettes adding to the symphonic opening sound. After the opening ceremony the members then mingled, with many enjoying the signature C8 cocktail special drink with the flashing cube, along with other beverages to start the evening. As the 6:30 hour arrived host Wylie had Ken Lingenfelter address the group along with a video of what Lingenfelter's shop can do. Also the winner of the T-Shirt quilt that the Albright's had donated was drawn with the proceeds being given to Spina Bifida. This was followed by a group shot that will be sent to Blue Bars to commemorate the club's milestone event in the Winter edition. Dinner was then served and followed by an interesting talk by keynote speaker Donald Davidson, the historian for Indianapolis Motor Speedway. During his talk he imparted a number of little known facts including that a Lingenfelter had won the first race on the track with a motorcycle. The evening then culminated with a number of the members enjoying dancing and listening to the 'By Chance' band that completed the special evening. The club would like to thank the committee of the Etscheid's, Habecker's, Forey's, Lapham's, and Herder's that planned and executed a great evening for a 150 members to enjoy.
