Gold Autocross & More 06/23
The day dawned warm and as it progressed very steamy after a stormy previous night. This did not deter the Corvette Indy workers and the participants from showing up. As with the previous year the Lingenfelter and RideTech Corvettes took a lot of runs, with many having Bloomington Gold attendees riding along. Also among the autocross participants were members Kristen Lingenfelter taking a number of laps in one of their beautifully modified C7's, and Richard Hilton both who were giving autocross a first time try. Expect to see Richard at future events in our area. With Butch and Tammy overseeing the course everything went smoothly with workers being switched out at a mid day break. Along with Corvette Indy members there were NCCC club members helping from as far away as South Bend. Along with all of the Corvettes enjoying the autocross a Lamborghini took to the track with the owner taking his wife along for several joyous rides. He did need to look into getting new tires when done. Once the day's runs were done the count was nearly 265 made by the enthusiastic group of drivers.
Besides pictures of the autocross there are also shots from around the whole huge Bloomington Gold grounds which covers about half of the IMS. This year there were even more commercial and swap meet vendors setup. Ron Fellows again had high speed rides on a portion of Hulman boulevard and Corvette Racing had a display. Chevrolet also had a number of the new Grand Sport's, many with the special design packages.
