Sunday C7 Viewing
On Sunday April 13 Bill and Erika invited Bob and Barb to take a Sunday drive on some of the previous weeks routes that Barb had been unable to go on. When Bob & Barb arrived at Bill's house, he had been talking to his neighbor Joe. The two of them then went over to see Bob's C7 up close. Bob then started to give Joe the full walk around worthy of a car salesman that actually knows about the new Vette. After a few minutes Joe asked if he could bring his 14 year old son Vinnie over to see the Corvette too. They were quickly back, and Bob proceeded to let Vinnie sit in the drivers seat and give him basic instructions on the cars features. At one point Bob was going to let Vinnie start the C7, but was reminded that the clutch needed to be fully depressed. It was decided that should wait for another time as the car was also in gear. Bob offered to let Joe sit in the car, but he declined as he had been doing yard work. Once the still smiling Vinnie was out Bob got in and started the Corvette up to demonstrated the exhaust modes. During this Joe's wife Wendy came out to see what was going on and commented that she had never seen Vinnie leave his video games so quickly! She also wondered if C7's only came in Red, but we told her that there are many other colors. Joe has always been a Corvette lover and really appreciated the C7. It was great to see Vinnie's enthusiasm for the C7, possibly ensuring a great future for younger drivers joining in the Corvette experience.
The two couples then took their drive, with Bill & Erika experimenting with their new GoPro camera and Bob & Barb getting near the 200 mile mark on the C7's odometer. Another fun day for current and potentially new Corvette Indy members.
