Strawberry Festival Car Show 06/13
On June 13 CI members headed to the Strawberry Festival in Crawfordsville. Rain was supposed to be in the forecast and thankfully it never fell upon us.
Part of the caravan group met at the new Speedway on SR32 just West of US31. At our meeting spot the North siders got there first awaiting Greg's Soouthren group to arrive. When they fired up to go they had 1 car that wouldn't start. It belonged to Linda (will there be a 'recognition' at the next meeting?) After some help from Al and Jim, a long time c3 owner, they were able to get it going and the group was on the way. As they got nearer Crawfordsville they continued picking up member Corvettes and arriving with a large group. Those making the trip to the festival were Jeff B, Greg & Donna B, Greg T, Jack H, Chris & Paula W, Randy & Sherry S, Jim & Pam K, Paul & Londa H, Al & Terri F, Alan & Judy C, Linda W, Wylie & Rita E , Rich & Suzanne B, & Mike S. Once at the show the group was met by club friends Buddy & Lorna H and Steve & Paulette B. Susie H & Terry S although not in the Vette stopped by for a visit too. Once parked on the lawns and after registration was completed the smell of ribs drew many to eat. Several times the weather was checked to see if we were in the clear. At one point Chris talked Jeff into getting interviewed by a camera crew, they asked questions about his time in the Marine Corps and about his commiserative Corvette. Once they upload the video a copy will be available. At 3 p.m. it was time for awards with the following winners: Jim & Pam K with Best C7 convertible, Jeff B Best C6 coupe, Al& Terri F Best C5 convertible, Chris & Paula W Best C5 coupe, Linda W Best C3 coupe. Our club friends were also winners, Steve B won best of show & Buddy H won a trophy with his C6 ZR-1.
With the weather holding out the group set sail for home with dry Corvettes that will soon be readied for the Penske Show!
Thanks to Jeff for the pictures and Jeff, Wylie, & Greg for the report.
