Fall Drive to Bub's 11/17
With another beautiful Fall day in the offering Erika and Bill in the early part of the week called for a Retirees and Hookey Players DnD drive to Bub's Burgers in Zionsville. Since it was to be such a warm afternoon for a November day three more couples and four single drivers signed up for a total of 8 Corvettes on the drive. Those able to go along besides the host were Wylie & Rita E, Greg & Donna B (without her crutch!!), Dick & Bonnie P, along with Keith R, Mark H, Greg T, and Jerry C. It was a good sight to have the Corvettes with tops down cruising the roads around Zionsville checking out the large houses and horse farms of the area. Those that had put their Vettes up for the season certainly missed one of the best days of the year for a drive. Once at Bub's Donna was slowly sent out to their patio to see if it would be a good to eat outside. She said yes and tables were soon pushed together for the group of 12. Among the group were 3 first timers, Jerry, Mark, & Keith, at any Bub's and one couple who had not known about the Zionsville location. No one took the ugly burger challenge, with most everyone getting a "Settle for Less Ugly" 1/4 pound burger or some even tried the Elk burger and of course fries. Among the afternoon's conversations were a discussion of current flashlights and their extreme power, several fishing stories, Thanksgiving dinner plans, and general lamenting that winter would soon be on us and the Corvettes will need to be put away for the season. Although several said that they were keeping their insurance on a Corvette 'just in case' the weather was not so bad this year. It was an enjoyable afternoon on the patio with everyone on their way by around 4 thereby missing the afternoon school bus runs and the oncoming darkness, which everyone agreed is coming way too early.
