Tuesday's Delivery Day

On Tuesday December 3 Bob & Barb took delivery of their new Torch Red Corvette. At the meeting the previous night they had invited anyone that would like to to come by and see their new ride. It became an event at the Penske service area as a number of Corvette Indy members took them up on their invitation. Bob even brought donuts for the group and Penske service members. Those able to stop by were Shelly N, Bill & Erika L, Bob R, Jeff B (who left work early), Dean & Zoe D, Sammy Y, Frank (a true hookey player) & Cathy C, and Wylie & Rita E who were finally able to sit in a C7 for the first time even though they had ordered a convertible several weeks ago! Brett & Jeff of Penske  brought the newly arrived Lime Rock Green C7 over for comparison. Many of the members slipped in and out of the Red C7's competitions seats and the Green's standard seat. The competition seats were great, but a number of the members did find the standard seats a bit more comfortable. In either case, it was a lot of fun being able to actually compare the two options. Bob & Barb had their initial introduction to the nuances of the C7 by Jeff, who came in on his day off to do it. Kudos to the Penske team for going that extra step! When general manager Brett got out of the Green C7 he handed the keys over to the Corvette Indy members, but without a plate on it and misty road no one took it for a test drive. Cathy did drive it out of the service area when we were done, as a minor test drive. Once Bob moved outside and got his On Star programmed we headed to Dooley O'Toole's in Carmel for an impromptu Drive N Dine by about half of those who had dropped by.
