River Run Car Show

On Friday August 30, CI members Jeff B and Charity, Randy and Sherry S and Chris and Paula W met for a nice hearty lunch at Cracker Barrel before departing for a nice drive down to Madison, IN for the River Run car show. The group check into the RiverBoat Inn and headed down to the Key West Shrimp House for some good dining. Afterwards they sat out on the patio of the hotel and enjoyed watching some deer that were eating down in the grass. Chris and Paula's A/C in there room quit working but they toughed it out. The next morning Jeff(JR) went down for breakfast in the hotel and bumped into a shirtless biker with no socks or shoes (definitely can tell we were close to Kentucky) and then met Chris and Randy and got in the Vettes and headed over to registration. After the detailing process was completed and many jokes about Chris and his famous Blue Towel, Rich and Suzanne B joined us. There were over 200 cars that were in the car show. According to the forecast, there was a 40% chance of rain but thankfully it held off until after the judging was done. The weather was sunny, hot and humid. Occasionally there was a nice breeze coming off the river. As the awards were about to be passed out the rain decided to make its presence known. Those receiving an award were Jeff B with his VY C6, Chris & Paula White with there Black C5 and Rich and Suzanne B with their Red C6 convertible. Rich and Suzanne ending up leaving before the rain fell too hard. As the group headed back to the hotel to shower up they decided to head back down to the Key West Shrimp House. Upon returning there were some bridge workers that were enjoying lots of beer and BBQ on the patio which carried on until about midnight. The group headed out to Big Boys in the morning for a nice breakfast buffet and then a caravan home.
