An 'Ugly' Bub's Trip 10/19
With another day of beautiful weather predicted Greg & Donna announced a Retirees and Hookey Player DnD at the second meeting of October for Thursday 10/19. The weather gods were correct and the day started cold but soon warmed into low 70's. Since the day was so nice a large group met at the host's house by 12:30 and the 13 Corvettes were headed on their two destination trip before 1. Those able to go were after having 'finger' cup cakes were the hosts Greg & Donna B, along with Ray C, Kim C, Gary & Marian C, John & Judy G, Susie H & Terry S, Bill & Erika L, Keith R, Larry S, Don T, John V, Phil V, and Linda W. Sherry C was 'almost' a hookey player as she was there for the pre-trip ice tea and goodies but then headed off in her SUV to work. The first destination was to Stuckey's, but as Bill had warned, after cruising the Village of WestClay and a few other Carmel roundabouts the route soon became circuitous as there were many construction projects to navigate. The final straw was that broke the camel's back on the route was that Joliet road had been chipped and sealed recently. Greg slowly traversed it for the few 10's to 196 street only to find it too recently done. So a quick turn around and back to 193 and then South on a clean Mule Barn road. Thereby skipping the first destination as the group headed West on IN 32 to Michigan and on to their second destination of Bub's in Zionsville. Due to the skipping of Stuckey's the group arrived early, which worked out well as Bub's kitchen was slow. The group had a good time chatting things up and even discovering that there were one actual Hookey Player of Kim and one half of one as Gary also took the afternoon off too. We also had an Ugly Winner as Keith ordered and then proceeded to consume a Big Ugly thereby getting his name on the wall of those who have accomplished that feat. The group broke up around 4 with most heading directly home and some taking more leisurely route & drive there. With the weather winding down look for another quick Drive N Dine to be called soon.
