Banner Hunt at NCM 08/23/2020
We came. We saw. We took pictures. We had fun almost getting locked in the National Corvette Museum parking lot on our way home from Nashville looking for the club banner. A few shots from the GM Bowling Green Corvette Manufacturing Plant, too. Thanks to Janet and Gary for the report, and it looks like a lot of C8's ready to ship too!!

Indy 500 Race Day 08/23/2020
Jim Shaver sent in pictures of the track before the race. During the race he is stationed in Oliver Askew's pit. Only fitting that it is a Chevrolet to watch over.

08/19/2020 Lucas Oil Along with Jim Shaver's IMS duties in August he also had to take his Corvette to Lucas Oil to test park it for the upcoming Bloomington Gold event. Looks like he did a great job, but have to wonder if early Corvettes without power steering will do as well getting lined up. |

Jim got to the track Sunday morning and spotted the Corvette Pace cars in a garage.

08/15/2020 Indy 500 Qualifying Jim Shaver was working at the track during qualifying for the 500 and took a quick picture. He will be the only member that we know of able to see the live events due to his multiple years of working at the track, including flagging at road course events. For the 500 he will work in the pit area with other track officials |

I got to drive a new C8 Z51 on the NCM track in Bowling Green, KY over the weekend and it was amazing! The participants had 3, 20 minute sessions on the track with a lead, follow set up. Luckily I was in the faster group and I was able to hit 130 mph on the straightaway. And the car handled fantastic. Only 5 drivers total.
I loved the view from the cockpit. It was wide open since the engine was behind me. It has good sound, but not as loud as my stock C7 Z51. But it had some nice crackle. There was a classroom session after each 20 stint that gave some nice tips to go faster. NCM provided lunch then passes to the museum to wrap the day up.
My son and I drove the C7 down and had a great weekend.
Anyone that is interested in getting a C8, I would highly recommend it. It was $800 and well worth it.

John and Carol Valentine were there and saw these C8’s and much more at January's show. His comments were:
Carol and I were there 2 days and had a great time. Lots of fine cars including plenty of Corvettes! 1900 cars were auctioned and only 1 was on reserved. While there he saw the C8 Vin 001 Corvette being sold. Here is the Corvette Blogger article link with a video of it happening. Click Link Here

Right after the first meeting of January Ray and Sherry headed off for the adventure that they had won at the Damar banquet a year ago. Looks like they had good weather and no loss of limbs, even though they did pet the animals.
