Indianapolis Motor Speedway Opening Day
Eight members from Corvette Indy were randomly chosen to represent the club in this years IMS opening day ceremonies. The CI members picked were James, Gregg & guest Marie, Bill, Barry, Bruce & his son Jeff, Jim S, Jim & Claudine, and Mike with guest Maddie.
The new Corvette ZR1 60th Anniversary Pace Car was the leader of the Corvettes and Camaros that made the three wide pace lap at a sedate 35 mph.
Once the pace lap was over the cars were parked along Hulman Boulevard and we all headed to the area behind the Pagoda for a great lunch served by our Chevrolet dealer hosts. Along the way and afterwards we enjoyed seeing the concourse cars on display.
Some of us went through the Chevrolet test drive display, and after driving a Volt got a shirt for our efforts.
The entrance ticket also included a garage pass, which will well used.
Thanks to Matt & Walter of Penske who set up and hosted our caravan to this years opening day ceremonies.
