Flight to Birds BBQ
On Sunday August 25 with beautiful weather a Drive N Dine was taken by eleven members of the club in six Corvettes. Starting at hosts Greg & Donna's house, Rich & Suzanne, Bill & Erika, Pat & Carolyn, Charles & Tammy, and Jeff (Jr) made the trip. The group headed North into Carmel and continued on to Spring Mill after a jog around the construction area of 116th street. From there they headed north to 6 Points Road, completely ignoring the use of Mule Barn Road! Continuing on they made another route change around 236th street which was closed for construction, before getting back on it and heading to Cicero. Jeff bemoaned our not stopping at the ice cream shop, but we motored on to SR19 and North to SR28 East to I69 and then back south to Daleville and Birds BBQ a favorite destination on a Sunday. Everyone had a great meal, and a great time enjoying the beautiful day as Greg had said earlier "made for Corvettes" Once done we headed out to the parking lot to admire Pat's detailed Corvette's paint and engine which looked great. He had just gotten their Corvette running correctly after finding that it had the C5's gremlin of a bad ground, which had plagued it for several months. He then lead us back toward Indy on I69 at a good pace, cleaning the carbon out of everyone's car. Another great day was had by everyone, with plans for more soon.
