Drive N Dunk aka Cars & Coffee or Cars & Corvettes!
What has become our generally most attended event, other than meeting nights, the McAlister's South of 96th Street continues to be 'the' Saturday morning place for both men and women members of the club to gather. One never knows who will show up and which along with which Corvettes will be there. The morning events usually begin at around 9:00 and go to near noon depending on the crowd and how many Corvettes or other cars there are to view and how deep the discussions get. Members even drive their 'metal' car to the event to be a part of the group in all types of weather year around.
Conversation among Members and other car enthusiasts is always interesting and lively. With a number of tables inside for their coffee and discussions the members have even morphed in to separate guys and gals tables with discussion topics suited to each.

There was certainly a lively bunch at McAlister's Deli this morning. Headlining the gathering was ‘Shep’ wearing a 'Homecoming Royalty' banner from the Fishers Homecoming parade the previous night. All indications were it was a successful and enjoyable event. Lots of varied conversations this morning kept the noise and entertainment level high.

Two visitors stopped by; Stewart Goodwin and his beautiful original 1975 Corvette and Bob and Sherry Wilbert's son and daughter-in-law with their four-week old 2019 Sebring Orange Grand Sport. The Saturday morning conversations are always entertaining, and occasionally informative. Thanks to Jim Alvis for the great pictures and report.

Lots of comments about upcoming July 4th activities, the upcoming reveal of the new C8 Corvette on the 18th, Charley's Christmas in July party, and much more. Have a happy and safe July 4th.

The overcast morning discouraged a few Corvettes from making an appearance, but we ended up with about 20 Corvette Indy members and friends at McAlister's Deli. Topics of conversation included a review of Bloomington Gold from yesterday and the Penske cookout for lunch today.

It was not an ideal morning for the scheduled Corvette events because of the cool, wet weather. The Drive & Dunk turnout was the lightest in a long time. Most of the regulars were headed to West Lafayette to participate in the annual Vettes for Vets charity visit to the Indiana Veterans Home, or to Knightstown for the Justin Steinwachs Memorial Car Show. The Herders and Keith R did stop by McAlister's Deli briefly on their way to the rendezvous point for Shep’s caravan to West Lafayette. |

When you combine a pleasant Saturday morning, dry streets, and a reason to drive your Corvette, you end up with a strong turnout at McAlister’s Deli. Nineteen plus Corvettes and twenty-five or so happy Corvette Indy folks had a great time. Much conversation centered around many upcoming events for members to participate in to further enjoy their rides. Thanks to Jim Alvis for the report and great pictures of everyone there.

Only one Corvette made it to this morning’s Drive & Dunk at McAlister’s Deli—Tom and Nancy P’s beautiful C7 Grand Sport. Last Saturday their C7 was absent, suffering from a mechanical issue. That issue was satisfactorily resolved by Penske Chevrolet and it is back on the road again. Well over twenty Corvette Indy members and guests had a great time this morning. One topic of discussion was the upcoming club participation in the annual visit to the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette on Saturday May 4. The visit is an excellent opportunity for central Indiana Corvette owners to support the veterans home by donating money and/or personal need items for the residents of the home. John H is accepting monetary donations up to and including the day of the visit.

None the less, eleven Corvettes and 15 members/guests enjoyed the weekly gathering. Ten o'clock Charlie arrived one half hour early this morning.Thanks to Jim Alvis for the notes and pictures as Jim Shaver was checking out the Bison!

With Spring weather finally starting to warm and greening things up 19 Corvettes and their owners came out of Winter hibernation to the weekly Saturday morning get together. While inside many varied conversations were carried out as always. With the warmer weather the guys finally headed out to check out everyone's ride, including Jim's C6 GS with a very nice engine compartment of colorful accessories, which will show well as the summer progresses.

A beautiful day brought out some beautiful cars at McAlister's. Special thanks to Tom P. for bringing Longs donuts for everyone. We weren't quick enough to get actual pictures of the donuts. Jim S. did get a VERY weak cup of coffee.

The first Saturday of the New Year was warm and dry so a few of the club's insured Corvettes along with a number of members ventured out to enjoy the weekly get together.
