NCM 20th Anniversary Trip - Afternoon of 8/27
After completing our lap around the track with Greg in the lead we headed to Nashville and the Seasons Lodge to have lunch. Our route headed south out of the track and wound our way to Mann road a favorite of the club when heading to Brown County. Once there before going inside Jim S was seen checking his left rear tire pressure as he had noticed that one dropping pressure on the way to the lodge. Jim found that is was a bit low and spotted a screw in it. He used his air compressor to pump it up and Al said that he had a tire repair kit with him, and they could most likely fix the tire after lunch. The Seasons Lodge was suggested by Zoe & Dean with Wylie taking their suggestion and getting us set up with a buffet with great fried chicken. It was a great meal, with many wishing that they could take a nap afterwards before the drive to Bowling Green. Before we headed out, Al and Jim were able to pull the screw out and then plug the hole with the tire repair. With it being a run flat, pushing the patch material in was very hard, with Al finally sitting on the lot and using his foot to push it in. Once the awe was pulled out, the material sealed and we were on our way South after Greg & Donna said their goodbyes as they were not doing the complete trip this time. Our trip down was fairly uneventful except for a fuel stop where the ones getting gas ran the Premium pump dry and several needed to get refunds due to air instead of gas getting pumped. Since we had split from the main Michigan Caravan Wylie had gotten a 6:00 pm Central Time drive through at the Museum. Leaving the restaurant we were going to be there in plenty of time, but due to several gas stops and one minor missed turn, we actually arrived at the Museum exactly at 6, a job well done by Wylie's leadership. We decided to then head to our motels instead of signing in as it had been a long day. Bill & Erika thought they were following Wylie for a pass through the Motor Sport Park but were not, instead they did spot a 2015 Tiger Shark Gray convertible which they stopped to take pictures of before continuing on their way to Cave City and the Econo Lodge. The days trip was enjoyed by all, with everyone settling in for a good nights sleep after several of the Cave City dwellers ate at Pizza Hut.
