2016 At IMS Track Time
One of our intrepid photographers, Jim Shaver, headed out to the track on Thursday May 19. His comments were: I spent a few hours at IMS today and got a few pictures. As a perk for flagging the Angie's List Grand Prix, I got a pass for pit access during practice for the 500. Notice that he also got a great picture of our sponsoring dealership's owner Roger Penske doing his thing at the track.
On Friday Jim along with 5 other members got invited to a Chevy golf scramble at the Brick Yard course and then Jim took more pictures at the track. Jim's Friday report: Long day. Golf in the morning then track day followed by visiting with relatives who arrived from California for the race. I did not have the touch for the panned shots at a speed on the from straight, but did get a shot of Colts left tackle, Anthony Castonzo. The golf outing for the members was another perk from our great sponsor Penske Chevrolet's Brett Rozzi and our club's relationship with Chevrolet Zone Manager Mike Quinn who always thinks of the club when events are available.
Greg sent in the luncheon picture with the following comments: Thanks to our good friends at Chevrolet and Penske Chevrolet that teamed up and invited six Corvette Indy members to participate in a Chevrolet golf outing last Friday at the Brickyard. Paul Habecker, Buddy Hodgdon, Bob Hawk, Ross Gullett, Jim Shaver and Steve Shepard played Friday morning and of course ended the day with lunch on Chevrolet! Isn't Chevrolet and our sponsor terrific?!
