Trip to Hell - Purgatory Golf Course That Is

On a Sunny Friday afternoon the Retirees and Hookey Players met at Bill & Erika's in Carmel for a trip to Hell - Purgatory Golf Course that is. The group was made up of Greg & Donna, Dick & Bonnie, Tom, new Corvette Indy member Jim, and guests Vince & Nancy. A leisurely drive was taken from NW Carmel, across 161st street to Cherry Tree Rd. We then followed Cherry Tree along to the ever packed IN32. With the help of Greg's blocking move we were finally able to sneak all 6 Corvettes into the backed up traffic as one group. We then traveled East to IN19 North. Once on IN19 for a mile or so, Vince radioed that his 72 Big Block was near empty. We had just passed a couple of gas stations on IN32, but on the wrong side of the road, so he hadn't tried to use them. We ended up pulling over once we were on 191st Street and getting Vince headed to IN37 and turning South in quest of a gas station, while the rest of the group headed North on IN37 to 216th Street and East to the Purgatory entrance. Once there we found ample parking and the Club House had a table reserved for us. About the time that we were getting our orders in Greg called to check on Vince, who was walking down the hall to the Club Room, so he and Nancy didn't miss a thing. We then had a great lunch, and good conversation with those in the group. Once done, the members headed back to their homes to rest up for the Main Event coming up on Saturday.
