Spring Fling 05/19
Hoosier Corvette Club Spring Fling was held at a new location at Edgewood United Methodist Church on the South side of Indianapolis on what turned out to be a very wet mid afternoon. Early arrivals of the 28 total registered got there in sun, but those coming after noon found a wet drive there and lot once they arrived. Corvette Indy ended up with seven members displaying their Corvettes, Bill Reynolds with his C5, Frank & Cathy Coolidge with Frank's C4 & Cathy's C5, Bill Lapham with his C6. While Wylie Etscheid, Paul Habecker, & John Vess arrived with their C7's directly from the Griots Garage seminar earlier in the morning. The rain continued with a hard downpour for awhile then pushed off allowing everyone to do a quick drying of their very wet cars. After the rain ended Ray & Sherry Chester and Bob Ray arrived in their metal vehicles to check out the show. Food was available from the Scoops trailer which also had great ice cream and root beer floats. As the afternoon progressed the Hoosier club started calling out numbers for the many items that they had rounded up for their raffle. Then the 50/50 winner was drawn and a couple of passes to Bloomington Gold were given out. As rain was again threatening the trophies were given out a bit early with Cathy, Bill L, & Wylie receiving Top 10 awards along with Frank and Bill R getting First Places in their classes. Overall a good day for the Corvette Indy participants. Hopefully the weather will be better for next year's Spring Fling.
