Great American Car Show
On Saturday May 24, an elite group of Corvette Indy car show lovers headed to Marian Indiana for the Annual Great American Car Show.
Thanks to Wylie and Jeff for the pictures and reports, Wylie's report is first and Jeff's second.
A group met at Noblesville Home Depot to drive to Marion for the All American Car Show. Rich P , Alan and Judy C, AL and Terri F, and Wylie and Rita E. Rita and Wylie each in a car. Terri jumped in with Rita for the drive up. Along the way we saw Chris W and Jeff B at a McDonald's. We all arrived at the park about the same time. Beautiful day and a pretty location for the show being put on by the Mississinewa Corvette Club. There were over 200 cars of all types. The judging was a drive through, with a lot of points for cleanliness awarded. Judging was done by noon and there was a lot of time to eat and socialize till awards at 3pm. There were 50 awards for the non corvettes, and 15 awards for best corvettes. They really weren't by class but rather the 15 highest scores. We manged to get 4 of those awards. Pretty nice job. The winners were Chris W with his C5, Jeff B and Alan C with their C6's and Rita E with her C7.
Jeff B along with the pit crew of Charity N and guard dogs Halo & Mina they met Chris White at the McDonalds in Elmwood and as they were planning strategy, CI members Rich P, Al & Terri F, Alan & Judy C and Wylie & Rita E were seen convoying up to the same show. We didn't catch up but afterwards we did some chatting at the show. There were approx 221 cars that were registered and there was some tough competition. After the detailing was complete the cars were then driven up to the judges where we waited for a few minutes and then back down to relax and consume some food. This was done similar to the Classical Glass type judging by cleanliness. The 50/50 was a nice chunk of change at $250 and then the awards were announced. They knocked out the Top 50 first and then came the Corvettes with Alan C, Rita E, Jeff B and Chris W getting Best in Glass plaques. Was definitely a car show worth attending.
