On the IMS Track
After being in line for a couple of hours and having had our drivers meeting the Corvettes were allowed to get on the track following the 2012 Corvette Pace Car. We were lined up 3 wide and with over 65 rows there were nearly 200 Corvettes of all years and colors on the track at once. The surprise this year is that we got to do 2 laps and follow the new C7 which is the 2013 Pace Car for the second one. It was a great thrill to see it pull along side and then on to the track. Several members got on their radios and are committing to getting a C7 of their own. Unfortunately we only got up to a speed of 40mph, but the thrill of following the new pace car certainly made the trips around the track memorable. Once we got parked along Hulman Blvd. (taking all of the spots up to the opening to the Pagoda area) we headed in for more views of the C7 and our Central Indiana Chevrolet Dealers provided lunch.
