Kellam's Chili Dinner Evening 10/09
Kellam's annual Chili Dinner and Bonfire was held on another great Fall evening after the successful Butler Parade earlier in the day. This year there were numerous new members that joined in the fun event, as over 80 signed in and enjoyed the now over 10 years running annual evening get together. Several of those were able to get a tour of Jim and Pam's beautiful log house too. With their pole barn Corvette-less there was again plenty of room for all of the food and some seating inside plus tables near the bonfire that was burning nearby outside. As in past years Pam had two huge pots of chili and all of the trimmings along with multiple tables ready for the salads, desserts and other side dishes brought by the assembled group. After everyone had eaten their fill the group headed out to the fire pit and had multiple circles of chairs around it. The evening was cool but not cold but the warmth of the fire was still enjoyed by all. To keep it burning bright this year NCM ambassador Jerry kept adding logs, as Jim later said "there is always a member that takes over tending the fire". As the evening got cooler couples started leaving until most were gone by around 10. A little after that Pam put their Great Danes Blue and Bus to bed as it had gotten past their usual time. She later got something out of the house and reported that 'baby' Blue was 'snoring away'. Around 11 the last 5 couples checked out the desserts and other items left by others and helped Pam & Jim by taking some home with them. Pam still had a lot of chili left, but she said that it freezes well for a later time. With another very successful evening everyone in the club thank Jim and Pam for hosting the highly anticipated club event at their beautiful log home site that has lots of room for everyone to enjoy the evening.
