Group 2 at RaceCraft1 3/24
Saturday March 24 was a fun day at RaceCraft1 for seven Corvette Indy members. Those attending were Bob Young, Jerry and Elaine Croy, Al Forey, Keith Riley, John Vess, and Jim Alvis. Many thanks to Bob Young for arranging the two simulator opportunities for club members. The afternoon started with an introduction by RaceCraft1 principal Kelly Jones. Kelly himself has a very interesting background having attended the Air Force Academy and being a former F-16 pilot, and an avid motor cycle and sports car enthusiast. His enthusiasm carried over into racing simulator development and training for elite race drivers. RaceCraft1 is known for expert Motorsports instruction, driver development, and racing simulation. The simulators were set for the Putnam Park road course and the group began driving their C6 Corvettes. With the three wide-screen displays it was amazing how realistic the track was. After several minutes of familiarization, it was pedal to the metal. Jerry, Elaine, and John had quite a bit of seat time on the simulators. Thanks to Bob and Kelly for a very enjoyable simulator driving experience.
