After Lunch Issues

After the group had had a great lunch and gathering everyone headed out at their own pace. Unfortunately Jim & Shelley got in to an accident only two tenths of a mile South of the restaurant. Through no fault of their own they had a SUV make a left turn from a side road on the right and basically cut across taking out their front end. The errant driver said 'I never saw you', as we all know bright red Corvettes are really hard to see. Once Shelley had called 911 and had the police on the way she called Bill & Erika to tell them of the mishap. They had headed North and did not see the accident. They soon got back and were able to document the crash site and errant driver and car from Sheridan. It was determined that both Jim and Shelley were ok and not in need of any medical attention but just in need of a way to get home as the Corvette was not derivable. Bill & Erika then headed back to Carmel to get their Trailblazer and returned to pick Jim & Shelley up  Upon returning they headed to the tow truck yard to get a better look at the damage and get Jim some more pictures. While Jim was waiting for their return he had contacted his insurance company and had the process of getting it repaired well underway. The car will be taken to Penske Collision for repair. Of course the most unfortunate thing is that they will not have their Corvette going in to the full season of drives and events that are just starting for all of the Corvette Indy members.
