Bookers in Kirklin 07/16
On what was supposed to be a dry day Bill & Erika called for a Retirees & Hookey Players DnD drive to a new restaurant in Kirklin, IN. The day started cloudy and then a 1/2 hour before leaving a 'sprinkle' dropped in. This did stop one couple from coming along, but a total of 8 Corvettes made the trip as by the 1 PM leaving time it had all stopped. This allowed for tops down and roofs off for most of the group. They wound their way to SR32 where they picked up their final car and then up good old Mule Barn to Sheridan and then curvy SR 38 to Kirklin. Once there they all parked in the bank parking lot as it is closed on Thursdays. In Bookers they were put in a room by themselves and had a great time with many conversations going on and a good afternoon meals. The people in Bookers also went out and looked at the Corvettes and got pictures for their Facebook page. Before going in we were asked by a local shop owner is we wanted to return the second Saturday of October for a small car show during their festival. So another chance for those who would like to display their Corvettes before putting them up for the winter. With the intersection of US 421 and SR 32 closed for the new roundabout several took different ways home enjoying a beautiful sunny sky and light breeze. Another fun Corvette Indy day.
