Mystery R&HP DnD 08/02
Bill & Erika decided to host their first Retirees & Hookey Player Drive N Dine of 2019 on the first Friday of August on what turned out to be a 'Chamber of Commerce Day'. The destination of Parky's in Lebanon was a secret before hand so that everyone had to bring their Corvettes for the day's drive. With temps in the mid 80's and just a few clouds in the sky a large group of 20 Corvettes arrived at their house for a 1:30 departure time. The group of members that were able to go were Bob & Cindy Hensley, Greg & Donna Bowron, Paul & Londa Habecker, Phil & Anita Vickery, John & Mag Herder, Jeff & Deb Taylor (their first one), Alan & Judy Carnahan, John & Marg Herder, Harry & Tillie Barthalow, Joe & Katie Carroll, Bob & Sherry Wilbert, Jimmie & Donna Driscoll, Mark & Jan Rothrock, John & Ruth Vess, Dick & Bonnie Pacetti, Linda White, Kim Cannon, Susie Hale & Terry Sitzer, Wendell & Sheri Kegerreis. The group even had a true Hookey Player as Wendell thought he could not make it, but hurried his day's business up and arrived with 15 minutes to spare. There was one no show at the house, Mark and Donna Schlichter, but unfortunately they had a good excuse as one of Indy street's pot holes sucked them in enough to make them head to Levi's to check out a vibration they had gotten. They later made it to the restaurant with the report of two bent rims from the hit. The drive to the destination went well until a number of the group missed a turn off of IN 47 onto Howard street in Elizaville, so we could go down Elizaville Road, as a semi had gotten in the middle blocking the view of the Corvette sitting at the corner. The back third got themselves turned around and soon back on the route. Once at Parky's everyone was seated on the patio, which had plenty of room for the group. The food was great and the service also, with the group getting their drinks and then meals in a timely manner. Unfortunately Bonnie missed the step off of the walk while heading for her table and fell, hurting her shoulder. After a short bit Dick decided to take her to an emergency room to have it checked out. Later Dick reported that she has a cracked shoulder and will be in a sling for awhile. A bit of a downer for such a nice drive, but she will be fine. Everyone else headed for their homes after a great afternoon with the group of Corvette Indy members.
