​Main Event 2017 - Lot Cleaning Sunday 04/23

With the Saturday forecast for all day rain the old airport parking lot cleanup was moved to Sunday at high noon. It was a good move, even though it did not rain Saturday, as Sunday brought out the sun and warmer temps. The great group of workers that assembled had brought their brooms, leaf blowers and fortunately a few shovels as piles of gravel were soon being created and needed to be moved off course. Butch and Mike had roughed out a course design that is basically reversed from last year. With the starting line in roughly the same place as last year's events the course now heads North and goes through the where the parking and tents were last year. This year the parking and pits will be at the South end of the huge lot, which will require everyone to enter off of South High School road. With pylons put out in the general layout, workers focused on an area near 465 which was dirtiest. From there those running the blowers headed around the course getting the worse blown off. As we are still a week away from the event Butch called the crew in a little after 2 and everyone was headed home before 2:30. On Friday, once the course is set, the final dressing will be done and ready for the 28th Main Event on Saturday & Sunday.
